Reanna Peterman MS, RDN, LDN
I received a master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition with an emphasis in Public Health from Saint Louis University. During my graduate studies, I conducted research on the Assessment of Prevention and Management of Eating Disorders in Adolescents. Prior to working as an Outpatient Dietitian, I worked as a Clinical Dietitian at multiple eating disorder treatment centers. I treated clients at the Residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care. I have over 7 years of experience in providing nutrition counseling and support to individuals with eating disorders.
My philosophy is founded on the principles of body autonomy, all-foods-fit, fat liberation, lgbtq+ celebration, and community care. I specialize in a weight-neutral approach to eating disorder treatment. I also work with neurodivergent folks on eating disturbances. My counseling style incorporates intuitive eating, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques. It is my mission to provide compassionate and trauma informed care.
As a fat and queer dietitian, I have a unique understanding of what it is like to navigate recovery, and the world, while living in a marginalized body. I recognize that I only know my lived experience, and as a white person, I have many unearned privileges. I strive to take pause and listen to those who have differing experiences of mine. I am continuously educating myself on white privilege and racial equity.
I am passionate about helping people learn to nourish their bodies in a therapeutic way. When I'm not seeing clients, you may find me dancing with friends or tending to my plants.
For clinicians, I am available for individual and group supervision, speaking, and education events.
